Played in Helloween from 1983 till 1993
Ingo Schwichtenberg can be considered the originator of Helloween, literally: it was him who thought up the name in 1984 (back then, the band were big fans of "Halloween" movie series). Though there are no Helloween songs written by Schwichtenberg, he gave his mood and unique feel to every single song he played. It seems, only when Helloween lost Ingo in 1993 (he had to leave the band because of his rapidly progressing schizophrenia) it became clear how important he was for them. Unfortunately, Ingo's mental disease overcame him in the end. On March 8, 1995 he committed suicide. His sickness and tragic death seriously influenced Helloween and ex-Helloween bandmembers (both Kai Hansen and Michael Kiske kept in touch with him) musically as well as personally.
